Open a connection or shared-list link
Opening a link, signing in, accepting a connection and copying an older list are separate actions.
New connection invitations
The signed-out page may show up to three minimal idea cards and a safe remaining count. A shared invitation previews only likes for its full selected people set. The sender can disable previews. Preview cards show the sender’s interest, never co-member names, notes or capture material.
When ideas are available, the public preview says Ryan picked these ideas for you and Let Ryan know what you like, using the sender’s name. Use See all N ideas (or See the idea for one); links without preview ideas retain Continue on Domino. The preview is read-only: there are no hearts, saves or editing controls. Liking starts after authentication and connection.
The public preview omits repeated Like attribution, generic place types, the extra remaining-count line and the expiry timestamp. Closure and expiry are still enforced. Identity and connection-sharing details appear after sign-in, before acceptance. The calendar note Suggested times consider Ryan’s availability requires an affirmative timing-projection fact that the sender’s authorized availability actually informed the suggestions. Today’s public preview contains retained Likes without suggested times, so it does not show that note, even when the sender has a connected calendar.
The invitation has two screens: Ideas → Connect. Ideas uses the same preview before and after sign-in. See all N ideas opens the separate Connect screen; signed-out recipients first complete authentication and return directly to Connect. The preview remains read-only for signed-in recipients who have not connected. An arrow-only Back to ideas control lets you revisit it without dropping your identity choice, linked person or review exclusions.
Connect uses the same wordmark and card design without repeating the preview cards or remaining count. Sign-in reached through an open invitation omits the waitlist link. Regular sign-in keeps its existing waitlist messaging.
For a new account, an open individual invitation suggests the intended recipient’s name as an editable signup default. Group invitations leave it blank. Existing account names are unchanged. This default does not claim the invited identity or accept a connection.
Identity and sharing review stay together:
- Confirm your identity. Individual links ask Are you Todd?; groups ask Which name is yours?, with I’m not listed for forwarded links. Only an identity already linked to your account can be preselected. Selecting a name highlights the existing control and enables Connect after the backend review is prepared. The heading and choices remain in place, so you can correct the choice directly. There is no intermediate identity-confirmation screen.
- Group members who have joined appear as noninteractive name/checkmark chips, with accessible joined labels. They are separate from the selectable identities. First arrivals have no extra status message. Group membership and later-arrival rules are unchanged.
- New accounts have no saved-person or existing-like review. For returning accounts only, optional saved-person linking and existing likes share one review area. Review N saved ideas counts distinct ideas; checkboxes remain separate for each person. If no existing likes need review, Already saved Ryan? provides the existing-person link. Unchecking changes sharing when you connect and keeps your saved idea.
- Existing links that already carry an exact idea remain supported, labeled Like Remedy with Ryan, with Remove. Choose Connect with Ryan, or Connect with Ryan & friends for a group. The primary button is the last content on the Connect screen; there is no footer note. The carried Like applies only if the sender’s idea is still authorized for this account.
There is no separate Connection details section or bearer-link paragraph; previous disconnections are preserved by the existing service, with a conditional notice when acceptance reports them. Open invitations omit the expiry date; closure and expiry are still enforced. Continuing, selecting an identity or changing a review does not accept the invitation.
Your private likes and likes for other people remain private. Joining alone does not expose every participant’s likes. My Dominos shows only your saves and currently authorized incoming interest.
Acceptance immediately opens ordinary Home on the sender's person view with Liked first enabled and Where/What/When cleared for this visit. Existing saved defaults are preserved. Group invitations open the same sender view. Reopening an already accepted invitation also navigates there without another acceptance action. The opening state retains a recovery link if navigation cannot finish. The Likes shelf shows actual authorized Likes; suggested cards follow your ordinary recommendation path. Automatic landing settings and accepting a connection are not expressions of your preferences or endorsements of preview cards. A carried heart is a separate explicit action and is applied only while authorized; otherwise Domino explains why it could not be applied.
On invitation arrival in the sender's connected-person Cards view, Ryan’s picks for you includes Heart ideas to let Ryan know you like them too. After two distinct ideas are successfully liked for that person during the visit, the guidance becomes an optional Find better times together calendar prompt above the cards. This also applies to group arrivals in the sender's view; it does not share Likes with everyone in the invitation. Connect calendar opens the existing availability setup. It does not start OAuth or grant access automatically.
The calendar prompt is skipped for an existing calendar connection or available imported calendar. Not now remembers dismissal for that account in this browser. Private/other-person Likes, failed writes and repeated saves of one idea do not advance the prompt; removing or undoing a Like before the second one removes it from the count. Once shown, the prompt stays stable until dismissed or a calendar is connected. Ordinary feed arrivals and other sharing flows are unchanged.
The link authorizes joining; signing in identifies an account, not the recipient’s real-world identity. An unused forwarded link can reach an unintended person.
Expiry, closure and disconnection
New invitations have a seven-day acceptance window. Existing invitations keep their recorded expiration. The creator may close it early. Previews recheck current audiences and stop on closure, expiry or the relevant disconnection; removed audiences no longer qualify. Existing friendships remain after a link closes. Old links, repeated acceptance and later arrivals cannot restore a deliberately disconnected pair. Use a fresh individual Reconnect action in Friends.
Existing copy-based links
Older shared-list links still create or open a recipient-owned editable copy. Edits do not change the sender’s original. Copying may offer a reviewed connection consequence; declining it does not prevent keeping the copy. Do not treat list membership as authorization to see new likes.
Card-specific actions must retain the exact idea through sign-in. Never substitute a similarly named place. Reopening an already accepted/copied link must not create duplicate effects or recreate a removed connection.
Creating a link means ready to send, not delivered. Read the current result before claiming that an account connected, a copy was created or a like was added.
