Connect Google Calendar

Google Calendar has Domino's direct account connection. The user authorizes Google, returns to Domino, and can manage the connection under Your calendars.

Primary connection path

1. Open Your calendars in Domino.
2. Choose Add calendar.
3. Choose Google Calendar, then Availability only or Events and availability.
4. Choose Continue with Google, select your account and review Google's authorization screen.
5. For private details, choose the calendars that represent your commitments and select Save calendars.
6. Wait for Connected · Checked… and check the last update time. Sharing starts off; turn it on separately if you want friends to use your busy times.

The When filter in Ideas can also offer Connect Google Calendar while the user is choosing timing.

Choose Events and availability to ask Domino about appointment names and locations. Availability only uses the primary calendar without reading those details.

Choose the access mode

Friends see availability hints, never event titles, locations, notes, guests, selected-calendar names, or the connected Google account.

Connect another Google account

You can connect several Google accounts directly. Each account has its own calendar selection, access mode, Use switch, sharing choice and connection status.

1. In Your calendars, choose Add calendar → Google Calendar. The option says Add another account when Google is already connected.
2. Choose Availability only or Events and availability, then Continue with Google.
3. Choose the additional Google account. Domino returns to that exact account's setup.
4. For private details, choose at least one calendar and Save calendars. Domino waits for this choice before fetching private event bodies. For busy-only access, choose Check availability to check the primary calendar.
5. Check Connected · Checked… and the last checked time beside that account's email. New accounts start with sharing off.

Adding an account that is already connected reuses it and preserves its calendar selection, privacy, display and pause choices. It does not create a duplicate. Reconnect and access upgrades must use the same Google identity as the selected row. Removing an account affects that account alone.

Availability combines every account whose Use switch is on. Any current busy commitment blocks that time; incomplete or expired evidence from any included account prevents a free-time claim. Turning sharing on for one account does not share another account's availability. Friends never receive private event details or Google account emails.

Change an account's access

To enable event-aware access later:

1. Open Your calendars.
2. Expand Google Calendar and choose Settings.
3. Choose Read private event details, or select Events and availability if already authorized.
4. If Google asks for additional authorization, complete it.
5. Choose the calendars Domino should consider under Choose calendars.
6. Optionally add Availability instructions, then choose Save changes.

Select at least one calendar to save. To stop using all calendars, turn off the connection’s Use switch.

Manage the connection

Under Your calendars → Google Calendar → Settings, the user can:

• see the connected Google account;
• switch between availability-only and event-aware access when authorized;
• select calendars in event-aware mode;
• add availability instructions;
• use the row’s Use switch to pause or resume calendar display and availability;
• Reconnect when access expired or was revoked;
• use the row’s Find times with friends switch and Remove action.

Removing the connection deletes Domino's cached availability data for it and revokes the stored Google authorization.

Google troubleshooting

• Wrong account during reconnect: repeat Reconnect using the email shown on that row. To connect a different account, use Add calendar → Google Calendar → Add another account.
• Reconnect needed: choose Reconnect and authorize the same Google account again.
• Retrying or temporarily unavailable: Domino retains the connection and retries. Do not remove it solely because of a temporary provider failure.
• A calendar is missing: event-aware mode is required to manage individual selected calendars. Confirm the Google account itself can see the calendar.
• Suggested times ignore an event: check that the connection is active, the calendar is selected when using event-aware mode, and the event is marked busy rather than free in Google.

Ask about your schedule

Domino can read your own stored schedule through the shared calendar.read capability, where the authenticated surface exposes it. Ask “What appointments do I have Saturday?” for authorized titles and locations, or “Am I free Saturday afternoon?” for availability. Busy-only sources still count as commitments. Missing names, incomplete coverage and expired information never prove that time is free.

Ordinary private reads do not contact Google or refresh stored information. Use Your calendars → Refresh connected calendars when needed. External agents need the separate Read private calendar details (calendar:read) permission; Google consent alone does not authorize an external Domino agent, and existing or wildcard tokens do not gain it automatically. Friends receive only permitted availability.

Add one Domino plan to Google Calendar

A person does not need to connect Google availability to add one plan. On a scheduled plan, choose Add to calendar → Google Calendar. This opens Google's add-event flow for that plan only.
